Gita Bal

Gita was hired as the Head of Fixed Income Research in 2024. Her responsibility is to lead the strategic direction of Aviva Investor’s credit research capabilities globally with specific focus on delivering strong investment performance and implementing an efficient operating model. 

Prior to joining Aviva Investors, Gita was Global Head of Fixed Income Research for Fidelity International in London. Her responsibilities included leading a 50-person fixed income research and graduate team, co-leading the Fixed Income Leadership Team, onboarding and helping to integrate Fidelity’s private credit team, and managing Fidelity’s cross-asset proprietary sustainability ratings across equities, fixed income and private credit. In her previous roles at Fidelity, Gita was a Director of Research and Senior Credit Analyst with responsibility for consumer names across developed and emerging markets and across the credit spectrum. Gita has also worked as a Vice President, Credit Analyst and Bank Loan Specialist at PIMCO and as an Associate in Debt Capital Markets and High Yield Research at Banc of America Securities. Gita holds a BS in Foreign Service (cum laude) with an economics concentration from Georgetown University, a Masters in International Studies from the University of Pennsylvania, and an MBA from the Wharton School (Finance and Entrepreneurial Management).
