Mitesh is chief investment officer for multi-asset at Newton Investment Management.
Experience and qualifications
He was previously CEO of Redington from May 2016 to December 2021. Under his leadership, Redington grew from a founder-led start-up to a management-led, private equity backed business advising over £600 billion in assets. In 2021, Redington aligned its default client investment advice to the goals of the Paris Agreement, having already offset its own historical carbon emissions. Mitesh has been recognised for creating one of the industry’s most open, innovative and inclusive workplace cultures and for putting diversity at the top of the agenda. Redington was one of the first companies in financial services to close its Gender Pay Gap in 2019. He and the company had one of the highest Glassdoor scores as rated by employees.
Prior to joining Redington, Mitesh was Head of Fixed Income at Henderson Global Investors, having started his career as a fund manager researcher at Watson Wyatt and Aon Consulting.
He qualified from LSE in 1999 with a BSc in Actuarial Science. After graduating, Mitesh spent a year in India studying at Tatvagnan Vidhyapeeth (School of Philosophy). He is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries (FIA). Mitesh is a member of the Diversity Project’s advisory board, an active member of the CEO sponsor group for the gender workstream, an LGBT Great #50for50 ally and an executive sponsor of the Race & Ethnicity workstream.
