Biography

Main responsibilities

James is currently responsible for leading our Real Estate Equity Investment team who manage a variety of real estate funds and mandates across Europe. Our solutions cover broad market exposure with core income strategies, and niche or thematic investments through to more value-add strategies.

Experience and qualifications

James joined Aviva Investors in 2019 as Head of Development, Global Real Estate. James had responsibility for identifying, investing and delivering mixed-use developments, joint ventures, land master planning and reconfigurations of schemes across the retail, leisure, commercial and residential sectors. James was also responsible for improving the environmental performance of our real estate assets through refurbishment and redevelopment.

Prior to joining us, James spent twelve years at Aberdeen Standard Investments where, as Fund Manager and Head of UK Development, he sourced, underwrote and executed investments across a range of core, value-add and opportunistic funds.

James has a masters degree in Land Management/Urban Development & Planning from University of Reading.
